I started my career years ago as an elementary school teacher, graduating from St. Bonaventure University and then receiving my Masters' Degree from Boston College; my life-long passions have always been working with children and photography.
I had the opportunity to take a leave of absence from my teaching career with the arrival of my first daughter in 2008, that I extended with the addition of my second daughter in 2010. During this time with my children I have been able to focus more time improving my knowledge of photography and finding my style...which is constantly evolving. Photography has always been part of my life; I was always the friend in school or college capturing the candid or special moments. In the years I have attended several classes from basic photo composition and portraiture to Photoshop basics and advanced editing.
I find that taking pictures everyday helps me continue to apply what I have learned through my ongoing photography classes and using my equipment as an extension of my vision. I have been quickly building my professional portfolio through shoots with family and friends - concentrating on newborn, toddler, family and maternity moments. I shoot my own pictures, I edit my own pictures and I create the landscape for those special moments to take place. But it is not only the pictures for me, it is the interaction with the customer, whether it is the expression on the mother or grandmothers face when we finally get the perfect pose or smile from that newborn or the excitement on a toddler's face as we catch him/her exploring at an outdoor session, I want it to be an experience for all of us!
